Amsterdam Gathering Honours Gandhi’s Legacy of Peace
Representatives of civil society, human rights groups and faith communities met in Amsterdam for a ceremony honouring Mahatma Gandhi, bringing together the Gandhi Global Family and the Church of Scientology Netherlands around human rights, peaceful cooperation and non-violence.
Taking place beside the Mahatma Gandhi monument on Amsterdam’s Churchilllaan, the event included Ram Mohan Rai, General Secretary of Gandhi Global Family, Scientology representatives and human rights advocates. Participants also discussed future cooperation in human rights education and youth engagement.
The Church of Scientology’s support for human rights education is rooted in the humanitarian work of Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, who encouraged Scientologists to support initiatives advancing fundamental human news eu commission rights.
Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and UN, highlighted the importance of cooperation across different beliefs and backgrounds, stressing that knowledge of human rights can support social cohesion and democratic resilience.
